Privacy Policy

When you use Dog Moments, we collect:

• Email address — provided when you sign up. Used for authentication and communications described in this policy.
• Username — chosen by you at sign-up. Displayed publicly alongside your entries.
• Photos — images you submit to contests. Stored on our servers and displayed in the public contest gallery (visible to all visitors) and on your profile page (visible to signed-in users only).
• Votes — which entries you have voted for. Associated with your account but not displayed publicly.

We do not collect payment information. Prizes are delivered via gift card sent to your email address.

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate you and operate your account.
• Display your entries publicly — submitted photos and your username appear in the public contest gallery and on your profile page, visible to all visitors.
• Notify you if you win — we will email you to confirm your prize and arrange delivery. These are transactional emails required to fulfill the contest.
• Send marketing emails — we may email you about new weekly challenges, contest results, and other Dog Moments updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• Use your photos for marketing — we may feature submitted photos on our website, social media, or other promotional materials. See Section 4 for details.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Service providers — we use Supabase for database hosting and file storage, Vercel for web hosting, and Resend for sending emails (including sign-in links and winner notifications). Your email address is passed to Resend solely for the purpose of delivering these emails. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users or the public.

Photos you submit are displayed in the Dog Moments contest gallery on the homepage, which is visible to anyone who visits the site — including visitors without an account. Your dog's name and username are shown alongside your entry. Individual profile pages, which show all of a user's entries, are only accessible to signed-in users.

By submitting a photo, you grant us a license to use it for marketing and promotional purposes, including on social media. We will credit you where reasonably practical (e.g., your Dog Moments username).

You can delete an entry from your profile page at any time, which removes the photo from the gallery. Winning entries cannot be deleted, as they are kept as a permanent record of past contests. Note that copies of any deleted photo may persist in backups or on third-party platforms where we have already shared the image.

We retain your account information and submitted photos for as long as your account is active. If you delete an entry, the photo is removed from our storage. To request full account deletion, contact us at the email below.

• Marketing emails — you can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. You cannot opt out of transactional emails (such as winner notifications) while your account is active.
• Delete entries — you can remove your submitted photos from your profile page, except for winning entries, which are kept as a permanent record of past contests.
• Delete your account — contact us to have your account and associated data removed.

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure third-party infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Dog Moments is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Dog Moments after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
